HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 (2J4V9AV)
Linux

After the power is turned off, the charging indicator starts blinking after a few minutes. It flashes 3 times with an interval of one second. Then every 5 seconds this blinking is repeated

Turning the laptop on. Press and hold the power button for at least 5 seconds. Only then the notebook can be turned on by pressing the power button.

When the charger is connected to the laptop and it is charging, - everything works as it should.

All this started after replacing the battery

What is it connected with? How to fix it?

Hi @OlegKovalchuck,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The flashing charging indicator and the behavior you're describing often indicate a battery or power management issue, especially since it started after replacing the battery. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and possibly resolve the issue.

Check Battery Connection: Ensure that the new battery is properly connected. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause power issues.

Reset Power Management:

  • Disconnect the charger.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the charger and try turning the laptop on again.

BIOS Update: Check if there’s an available BIOS update from HP's support site for your specific model. Sometimes, updates can fix power management bugs.

Battery Calibration:

  • Fully charge the battery while the laptop is turned off.
  • Once fully charged, unplug it and let it drain completely until the laptop shuts down.
  • Plug it back in and charge it fully again without interruption.

Check for Faulty Battery: If the issue persists, the new battery may be defective. If possible, test with another compatible battery to see if the problem continues.

Power Adapter Check: Make sure the charger is functioning correctly. Sometimes a faulty charger can cause erratic charging behavior.

Try these steps and let me know how it goes!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
