I have this problem. The battery percentage on my laptop does not change, does not fall or rise. Although it is running down and charging, the laptop does not show it.

@maks17, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion 15-eh3000 is not updating the battery percentage (it stays stuck even though it's charging or discharging), it’s often a sign of a software/driver glitch, battery controller miscommunication, or rarely, a hardware issue.
Let's go step-by-step to resolve this:
✅Perform a Battery Reset (EC Reset)
This can clear glitches in the embedded controller (EC), which manages battery reporting.
Steps:
- Shut down the laptop.
- Unplug the charger.
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
- Plug the charger back in and power on the laptop.
Check if the battery percentage now changes.
✅Run Battery Troubleshooter
Windows has a built-in troubleshooter for power-related issues.
Steps:
- Press Windows + I → Go to System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Scroll down to Power, then click Run.
- Let it complete and apply any suggested fixes.
✅Reinstall Battery Drivers
Sometimes, the Microsoft ACPI battery driver gets stuck or corrupted.
Steps:
1. Press Windows + X → Click Device Manager.
2. Expand Batteries.
3. Right-click on:
- Microsoft AC Adapter
- Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery
4. Click Uninstall device for both.
5. Restart your laptop. Windows will reinstall them automatically.
✅Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers
Incorrect battery reporting can sometimes be fixed by updating your BIOS and chipset.
- Go to HP Software & Driver Downloads.
- Enter your product: HP Pavilion 15-eh3000 or serial number.
- Download and install:
- The latest BIOS update.
- Chipset or AMD drivers.
✅Use HP Hardware Diagnostics (Battery Check)
Let’s see if HP detects a hardware fault.
Steps:
- Press Esc repeatedly when powering on → Press F2 for HP Diagnostics.
- Select Component Tests > Power > Battery.
- Run the Battery Check.
Let me know what result you get (like “Primary battery passed/failed”).
Try checking in BIOS: Restart and press Esc > F10 > See if battery percentage is shown correctly there.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
