HP Envy x360 Convertable

The "prt screen" button on my keyboard is no longer working. Usually, I can click the button and a screenshot would appear in my PC's "screenshots" folder. For some reason, this function just stopped.

The only thing that is working now is if I press the windows key and the "prt sc" button at the same time. However when I do this, the screenshot does not go to my PC'S "screenshots" folder. Instead it goes to my OneDrive folder, which is super weird.

Would anyone know what could be the problem and how I can fix it? Simply pressing the "prt sc" button was very useful and I would like to go back to using that function again. I assume it is just something I have to change in my settings since this function was working perfectly fine before?

Hi@jay196, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand that notebook has an issue with the print screen not working.

The alternative default way for partial screen

  1. Press the Windows key + Shift + S at the same time. ...
  2. Select the portion of your screen that you wish to grab. ...
  3. Open an image editing program.
  4. Open a new image and tap CTRL + V to paste the screenshot.

If not that, you can try Fn+Right-Shift to print screen, check if you have Prt Sc written on your right shift key for this to work.

Keep me posted. Happy to help!
