This device is supposed to have a dGPu, an AMD HD 8750M to be exact. However, even though the device is clearly listed on the DSDT as \_SB.PCI0.RP05.DGFX the GPU is nowhere to be seen in Device Manager, instead a "PCI device" connected to root port 5. And when I tried to manually install the drivers after the installer refused to do so as apparently the GPU declared in the DSDT is nowhere to be found so there isn't any AMD gpu to install drivers for, the manually installed drivers refused to work as well. How do I get the gpu to work?

Hi:
The PCI device needs this W10 driver and has nothing to do with the AMD graphics adapter not working.
Driver - HP EliteBook 840 G1 Notebook PC | HP® Customer Support
Enter the product number of your notebook in the parts surfer website and confirm that your notebook came with the motherboard that has the AMD graphics adapter, because most of the 840 G1's only came with the onboard Intel graphics adapter, and not the more expensive Intel/AMD switchable graphics.
If it indeed has the Intel/AMD switchable graphics, unfortunately I would have no idea how to get it to show up.
Most likely the AMD GPU has failed over time due to overheating.
