HP Spectre 15t x360 15-df0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After the most recent Windows Update, by USB C / Thunderbolt ports are dead. Won't recognize anything I plug into them.

Tried running HP Support Assistant, but when installing any recommended drivers, I get an error saying these drivers are not compatible with the OS.

Same error is shown when I try to install the Thunderbolt Driver directly from the HP Support site for my Laptop.

As a side note, my work issued Lenovo ThinkPad got the same Windows update yesterday, and everything is working just fine. Very frustrating HP...

When will you provide updated drivers that will work?

Hello @Mr_Armageddon,

Sorry to hear that.

Try this:

  1. Turn off the computer
  2. Remove any external accessories
  3. Unplug the power cord
  4. Hold down the power button for at least 30 seconds
  5. Attempt to turn on the computer

Now see if the USB-C ports work.

Thanks for the suggestion, but didn't fix the issue. Guessing I'm stuck with non-functional ports until HP releases an updated driver. 😞

Hello @Mr_Armageddon,

Could you type into Windows Search msinfo32 and look at the line BIOS Version/Date? If it displays a number less than F.34, install the latest BIOS update below:

HP Notebook System BIOS Update (Intel Processors)

Description:

This package provides an update to the System BIOS. The update installs on supported notebook models using a supported Microsoft windows Operating System. It is necessary to restart the system to complete the installation.

Tried that but it looks like the file you posted isn't for my specific latptop.

Here is what I am currently running.

And here is what as listed as the most current on HP's Support page for my laptop.

Same problem from my end. Forcing old drivers did not help the issue. Want to reflash the firmware but not possible as about ZERO of HP's drivers are DCH or updated for 1909.
