Hi:

 

Based on the specs for any of the processors that come in the model series, the NVMe slot is PCIe Gen 3.

 

HP 250 G8 Notebook PC

 

I have attached the Intel specs for the most powerful processor offered in the model series and as you can see the 

Chipset / PCH PCIe Revision is Gen 3.
