Hi @SolutionSeeker3,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • What is the exact HP laptop  number ?
  • Did the keyboard and touchpad issues start suddenly, or have they been ongoing for some time?
  • Is the keyboard misbehaving across all keys, or only certain ones?

On Touchpad Replacement

  • In some models, however, the touchpad is secured with screws or adhesive, making it replaceable. The exact method depends on your specific model.
  • If the palm rest you purchased does not include the touchpad, you would typically need to transfer the existing touchpad board if it is removable.

In the meantime kindly try the below troubleshooting steps:

  1. Test with an External Keyboard
    • Connect a USB or Bluetooth keyboard. If that works fine, it helps confirm whether the issue is hardware‑related with the built‑in keyboard.
  2. Update/Reinstall Keyboard Driver
    • Press Win + X → Device Manager.
    • Expand Keyboards, right‑click your keyboard driver, and select Uninstall device.
    • Restart your laptop Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
  3. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
    • Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly to enter HP UEFI Diagnostics.
    • Run the Keyboard Test to check if the hardware is functioning correctly.
  4. Check Windows Settings
  • Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard.
  • Make sure features like Filter Keys or Sticky Keys are turned off, as they can affect typing behavior

I hope this helps.
