HP Pavilion Aero 13.3 inch Laptop PC 13-be0000 (3B3W4AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

My Touchpad in the laptop is not functioning. From "System Setting - Bluetooth", I cannot see the setting available to turn on the touchpad.

From "Device Manager", the ELAN Precision Touchpad Filter Driver is up-to-date but is hidden. Also it is mentioned in device status that the device is not connected to the computer (code 45).

Meanwhile, there is a separate error message from I2C HID Device Driver that "A request for the HID descriptor failed. This device cannot start. (Code 10)".

Not sure what needs to be done to recover the touchpad for usage.

Hi @Andy5602

Welcome to the HP Support Community. Thanks for bringing this to our notice.

I see that you are facing touchpad-related issues on your system. Do not worry, we are here to fix it.

May I know from when are you facing this issue?

Did you make any hardware or software-related changes to it?

May I know if you are facing the same issue in the BIOS?

Please boot into safe mode and check if the issue persists in the safe mode. Here is a link that will help: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00806682

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

The issue is still not fixed.

May I know from when are you facing this issue?  About 2 weeks

Did you make any hardware or software-related changes to it?  Not really

May I know if you are facing the same issue in the BIOS?  Not sure. But believe it is the case.

I have run safe mode and eventually reset the PC, but the touchpad is still not working nor I can find the touchpad setting.
