Recently my touchpad has stopped working. I updated the bios and the touchpad drivers to the current version for this device, in an attempt to address the issue. The mouse is working fine, but there is no action when I touch on the touchpad - no cursor movement. I have looked on the internet for various ways to enable the touchpad and they do not seem to work. I have uninstalled the touchpad driver and rescanned but there is no improvement. Thanks for any ideas on how to address this.
I am running Windows 11 Home 24H2
The PC is an HP Envy 15.6 2-in-1 laptop 15-ey0xxx

Have you used the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to verify that the touchpad is still recognized by the BIOS?
Press the power button and immediately tap the F2 key.
Select Component Tests and then select and click on the Mouse/Touchpad test to run the test.
What is the result of the test?
From the user manual for your laptop model series: (pages 6-7)
"Turning on the touchpad
Follow these steps to turn on the touchpad.
1. Select the Search icon in the taskbar, type touchpad settings in the search box, and then press
enter.
2. Using an external mouse, click the touchpad button.
If you are not using an external mouse, press the Tab key repeatedly until the pointer rests on the
touchpad button. Then press the spacebar to select the button."

OK.
If the Component test at the firmware level did not recognize the Touchpad as being installed during an attempted test, there is a likelihood that it may have failed.
