Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I replaced the original touch digitizer on my laptop, however the replacement didn't have the bezel frame surrounding it. I managed to unsuccessfully pry off the old bezel and apply it to the replacement but some cracks and breaks prevent it from properly attaching to the display assembly. I know my laptop is out of warranty and out of production, but where can I find the bezel frame only? (The only ones I've seen are for the non touch variants of my model.)

HI @Tame421

I used the HP PartSurfer to find the specific part number for the bezel of your display.

I found it on Amazon.com, ebay, com and NewEgg.com at very reasonable prices

Impactcomputers has the best price.

https://www.impactcomputers.com/776774-001.html

Here is a hyperlink to the search I did so you can perform a little comparative shopping.

The part number is

Bezel

-N/A-
 776774-001DISPLAY BEZEL

The HP PartSurfer parts list for your specific notebook is at the link below this line.

I hope this helps you.

I saw that as well but that bezel is for the LCD display without touchscreen. On my model, the bezeling is like a thin rubber lining glued to plastic mounting brackets that surround the digitizer. I looked through the manual for my laptop but it only shows the breakdown of the non-touch variants. IMG_20201109_153916_LI.jpg

This picture is what I'm talking about. In my case, the digitizer acts as bezel for the LCD panel, but needs it own bezel/mounts to keep the assembly together.

According to the HP PartSurfer, that bezel part number is for your specific notebook. That is why I used it instead of the Maintenance & Service guide as a reference for the part number.

This is the image of the one at Impact Computers.

You could contact them and ask them specifically about that part number

That bezel is for the LCD panel, I need the touchscreen bezel specifically. I'm not sure why HP recommends it for my model because it never had this type of part originally. Yes, it would work, but at the cost of losing touch capability.

I'll try contacting HP directly and report back with an update.

Update: Got in contact with HP. The touchscreen is one whole assembly- glass and bezel. My replacement is just the glass without the bezel. HP has no compatible part available currently so my only options are using the part mentioned in the part surfer and sacrificing touch or finding another touchscreen that comes with bezel.

Hmm. That stinks.
