Hello, support. I've a problem with my Omen 16 wf0083dx.
The battery doesn't charge when laptop is on. It only charges when it's off.
Yesterday I ran a BIOS check and got an error code - pu6g28-c7wcm2-xd7v7g-c1fu03 - adapter error.
I' m not sure about this info so I decided to ask here. Is it the AC adapter or power controller? I want to know how much money I will have to pay for the repairs.
I have a two month warranty, but unfortunately I am from a restricted area.

Hi @freekopik,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for reaching out, and I completely understand how concerning it is to have battery charging issues, especially on a powerful system like the OMEN 16-wf0083dx. I’ll break this down for you as clearly as possible.
The code you received (pu6g28-c7wcm2-xd7v7g-c1fu03) indicates a power adapter communication failure — in most cases, this points to a faulty or unsupported AC adapter, or an issue with the charging circuitry on the motherboard (power controller).
Since you're experiencing charging issues and have already received a BIOS error related to the adapter, let's try performing a BIOS Restore, which can sometimes resolve firmware-related power issues.
🔧 BIOS Restore Steps:
- Shut down the laptop completely.
- Make sure the charger is plugged in.
- Press and hold the Windows + B keys together (keep them held down).
- While holding the keys, press the Power button once to turn the laptop on.
- Continue holding Windows + B until you see a BIOS Recovery screen.
- Once it appears, follow the on-screen prompts and click OK to restore the BIOS.
This process will attempt to repair or reset the BIOS firmware, which might help resolve any miscommunication with the adapter or charging circuit.
Let us know if this helps or if the issue persists
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
