Hello! I need a replacement battery for my HP Envy dv7-7227cl Notebook PC. The replacement batteries I can use are 671731-001 (6 cell) or a 672412-001 (9 cell). HP no longer sells these batteries themselves, so I was referred to their authorized resellers. I contacted those resellers and they didn't have the batteries. They referred me to Impact Computers and Electronics, another reseller that they work with, even though they are not HP authorized. I was able to find both the 6 cell and the 9 cell battery on the website, but they are quite pricey. The 6 cell is $59.94 and the 9 cell is $84.95, with shipping being $8.40. That is really pricey for me, considering that I am a broke college student. I then searched the HP Community forum for other options and people were recommending going on eBay to find "genuine" HP batteries. The ones on eBay are much cheaper and are in the $20+ range. This one, in particular, has my attention because of the seller's ratings and the reviews: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-battery-for-HP-MO06-671731-001-Pavillion-DV6-7000-DV4-5000-62Wh-OE... However, it feels too good to be true. I don't want to jump the gun and buy a "genuine" battery from a shady site like eBay only to find out it's a cheap knock-off that overheats my laptop, doesn't work, or even explodes. Then again, I still don't want to spend an absurd amount of money. My budget is anything below $50. Can you guys recommend trustworthy sellers that sell genuine, original HP laptop batteries for a reasonable price? It would be great if returns and refunds are accepted. Thank you!

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
