I am wanting to upgrade my laptop but I am unsure how I can upgrade it, my laptop is about maybe ten years old, its gotten to the point where I cant update it to windows 11 because the processor is too old, any help would be appreciated. Worst case is that I will need a new laptop and if I do will HP take my old one as a trade in?

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
HP Pavilion Notebook 17Models 17-g000 – 17-g099AMD Models Maintenance and Service Guide
You could upgrade the memory, but you can't do anything to make your PC meet the W11 hardware requirements established by Microsoft.
If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2.
You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.
Since this is a peer-to-peer forum and we don't work for or represent HP, no one here would be able to answer your question about getting any trade in credit.
