Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

HP ZBook 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I "inherited" this computer (love this baby!) from a former employee who was caught playing games on it, so I don't know much about it. I use the battery alot.

Battery status says:

"Battery #1: 100% and fully charged

 Battery #2: Not present"

I'd love to have TWO batteries (do I just have one?)!

Question: can a get a second  battery for this computer?

I've looked at the bottom-side of the computer, but I'm a little hesitant to start opening compartments until I get this questioned answered.

Thanks!

I don't know what you clicked on.

The answer to your inquiry:

Notebooks have one usuable battery that can be charged so the computer can be used without the AC adapter (charger).

Some notebooks have a tiny cmos battery used to keep only vital functions alive - these are not the same battery used to charge the computer for use without the AC adapter.

Specific information can be found in the Service and Maintenance manual for your Product.  Components are listed by visual example and by part number.

Most products include a Service and Maintenance Guide (in addition to the User Guide) in the Manuals category of the computer's Homepage:  Support Home

Oh, nice "gift".  Smiling.

The "second" battery may be referring to a cmos battery -- if your zbook main battery is built-in (not easily removable), the battery may be doing the job of both (and so no cmos battery in computer).

Things to do...

Find your Zbook:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

On your Software and Driver page, click the "HomePage" to direct the website to your full support categories.  Download and take a look at the User Guide and the Service Manual (where you will find out what / which / how many batteries are in the workstation).

Read some of the other information in the various categories (How to, Troubleshooting) to become familiar with how the workstation performs.

Bookmark pages you want to reference or download files as you like.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Back on your Software and Driver Support page...

Open Category Software - Solutions

Look for and download the Softpaq Download Manager

or

If the version in your Drivers page is an older version, get your SDM from here:

HP SoftPaq Download Manager (SDM)

Read about how to use this nice HP software and driver update tool for use on business class machines (of which your zbook is one):

HP Notebook PCs - Using HP SoftPaq Download Manager

Use this software to check for HP updates and install those updates on your computer.

NOTE:

If it is all too confusing, the HP Support Assistant also works on business class machines...

Download, save, and install

Belarc Advisor

Run the program, let it update its files (if needful), wait for a couple of minutes for the program to "take inventory" of your computer.  When the website page opens, use "Save as" (or whatever means your browser supports) to save a copy of the report into an easily found location (like Documents or Downloads).

Keep the file as a "benchmark" -- run a new copy on occasion to keep track of "stuff".

"Notebooks have one usuable battery that can be charged so the computer can be used without the AC adapter (charger)."....you're great, as that's what I needed to know.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
