ProBook 430 G3 (DDR4)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone, I need a little help.
I'm about to upgrade my ProBook 430 G3, both for RAM and HHD.
Regarding the RAM, I chose a Crucial CT4G4SFS824A 4gb DDR4.
The problem arises on the HHD!
Obviously I will take an SSD, and since I noticed that there is the predisposition for SSD type M.2, I wanted to take one of this type. So as to have a second mechanical HDD for storage.
My research has led me to a crossroads, on the type of attack that these SSDs have.
Some have 3 "PIN" and 2 others, I enclose some examples to make me understand better.
Which of the 2 types is compatible with my notebook?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my english.

It will work. I am not a big fan of the WD Green as they tend to be slowed down for power saving but as I said it will work and will perform many times faster than a regular hard drive. Good luck.

An M.2 slot is an M.2 slot. Either the B + M keyed three prong or "M" keyed 2 prong type will fit in the slot it is how the motherboard makes use of the M.2 slot that matters.

Your Service manual

Yours only supports the SATA-3 kind based on this line in the Manual:

M.2 2280 SSD (NGFF), SATA-3

So of the 2 you linked the WD Green would work as would others of the same kind like a Samsung Evo 860 M.2.

Post back with any other questions and please accept as solution if its the info you needed.

Thank you so much for the reply.

ok, I think the concept is clearer now. I saw that there is a new version of the WD that I added earlier.

I really think I'll buy this:

It'll be fine?

Later I will clone the current disk with Acronis. Do I have to do anything else in the BIOS settings?

Thank you

Hi Huffer, sorry for using such old posting. Will NVME M.2 SDD work on the slot? the interface seems able to accommodate the card.

Start your own thread please. The devil is in the details and I need your model number to answer. You can tell nothing by looking at the slot only. As you can see the model that this post originally was about cannot take an NVME disk and I assure you the M.2 slot looks just like yours. They all look the same whether or not compatible with NVME.
