Hello!
I have a Envy 15'', Intel core i7, with 16 gb Ram and, 1tb storage, and GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950m, and I like to do video renderings because I am an architecture student, but sometimes Ifind it a bit slow, and in ocassions it may even show a black or gray screen, I close the notebook and open it again and I get the screen normal again but it worries me a little, I'd like to know if there is a way I could get an upgrade of the GPU, or if is possible to connect an external GPU to the computer and how recommendable it is to do it since im not an expert in computers.
Thank You!

Need your exact model to comment completely but we can say for sure there is no GPU "card" to upgrade: the video chip is soldered to the motherboard and not upgradeable and likely the GTX 950m is the top of the line motherboard option so no upgrade path. The only kind of eGPU worth considering is one that connects to a Thunderbolt port and we need your full and exact model to know if you have one. And not all USB-C ports are Thunderbolt.
