Envy X360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I just got my HP ENVY x360-15-ds0010nn

I upgraded to 2x8GB RAM, and tested it. It works very well but i cannot seem to get it to charge via type-c

Looking into his specs, i see that it has power delivery 3.0 on type-c.

I have tried with multiple Type-C chargers and power banks.

Not a single message when i connect them. Not even an error. It just does not see a charger plugged in.

Do i need to do anything else? in BIOS there is no option for that.

Thank you in advance!

Power Delivery means power delivery out. You want to put power in and the USB-C port does not support that. Generally if the laptop can be charged by USB-C HP delivers that type of adapter with the laptop.

Hi Huffer,

I have to disagree with you because:

1. Power Delivery is a bidirectional standard.

2. I managed to get it working somehow. It does not work if you plug it when laptop is opened.  It works when you shut down the laptop by the power button. After that it keeps working even if you restart, as long as you do not unplug the cable and re plug it. It even works this way with QC 3 charger, but charges slowly.

Tested it with a few other chargers and looks like it works without any problem with HP`s Type C chargers (like the ones from Specter). With the rest sometimes does, sometimes doesn`t.

Good to know and yes I stand corrected...Power Delivery is bidirectional its HP Sleep and Charge that many people think means  the port can charge the laptop and it only means charge delivery out to a phone or such.

Glad to know its working for you.
