Product: HP Notebook - 14-cf0335nd
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Note that the product name shows HP Laptop 14-cf0xxx in HP Support Assistant and on HP System Event utility 😞  

I see on support page that it is HP Notebook - 14-cf0335nd

 

I have a USB C Port on my system. I want to know why am i not able to charge my laptop through my USB C port.

That is I connect the port to a docking station which charges all my other laptops fine. But this one does not. I can connect multiple displays but not charge the laptop.

 

I was shipped normal round port charger for my laptop originally. Does my laptop not support charging via USB C ?  I hope not. 

 

Should this USB C charge my laptop ? 

 

Please help.

The chipset used on this laptop is Gen 1 which only supports data transfer not power. There is no solution, your laptop is not equipped hardware wise for this? Is your standard charge port broken?

No, you can't charge your laptop nor connecting to an external monitor using its USB-C port .

Hi Thank you for replying. Could you tell me what is missing ? Why am i not able to connect and what can i see in the specs to see if it is possible to charge my laptop via USB C? 

 

Also, if i connect my laptop to a usb c mobile (via usb c to usb c - 15W mobile) would that charge my mobile ? Or would that not work either ?
