Hi @LUCAv57,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your dock!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Start by power-cycling the dock. Unplug it from your laptop and disconnect all peripherals, including USB devices, monitors, and the power cable. If the dock has a power button, press and hold it for 30 seconds. Then, reconnect everything and check if the USB ports are functional again.
Next, ensure both Windows and the dock’s firmware are up to date. Open Settings → Windows Update and install any pending updates. For the dock, visit the HP USB-C Dock G5 Drivers page to download and install the latest firmware and drivers.
If the issue persists, try reinstalling the USB drivers. Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager) and expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Look for "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)," right-click it, and select Uninstall Device. Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the necessary driver.
If the problem continues, let me know, and we’ll dig deeper into potential solutions! 😊
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?"—your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
