Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e0000 (457S2AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Team HP,

Greetings...I have a HP Victus 16  (16-e0162AX )and I had to debug a hardware development board which has a USB short circuit.

the hardware under test was USB powered, and after the debugging session, the laptop was working well for two days. After two days, all of a sudden the laptop turned off and I could not get it to boot.

I went to nearest HP service center in Bangalore (Marathahalli) and after a few hours, they called me stating it is not possible to repair in their center and re-directed me to another HP authorized service center (Doddenakundi). When I saw the google reviews of the service center, I was thinking should I go, but I took the risk and went there. They had literarily no staff and looks like they are interested only in warranty repair.  Is HP support limited to warranty service? USB portUSB port

Then I took the laptop to a third party repair shop and he debugged the issue in no time. USB board has a short and needs replacement. Now the laptop is working, but with only one USB port.

Can you please let me know what is the replacement part for the two port USB and where can I order a replacement part?  HP Victus 16 manual states N42550 but the picture shared by the service professional looks different from the manual.

Can you please help?

Thanks and regards,

Tony Francis

Thanks a lot Erico. I tried locating the part in partsurfer.hp.com, but not able to checkout for India.

The following part(s) you entered were not found or not orderable: M54769-001 (Part is not orderable, HP Part Resellers may help.)

I see replacement parts in Alibaba/eBay etc.

The part seems to have few passives and I was wondering, it is some thing that I can attempt to repair? Let me know your expert opinion,

Thanks and regrads,

Tony Francis

If you are experienced and comfortable with disassembling electronic device, effecting the part replacement shouldn't be difficult.

if you are not comfortable with  doing that, you would be better off having that fone by a certified technician at a laptop repair shop.
