Hello everyone. One day ago I tried to charge phone's battery directly from my laptop's usb port (the one at the right) using usb cable. I think I didn't connect correctly to the battery's terminals and so immmediately after attaching the usb cable wires to the battery, the laptop shutdown and there was a burn smell. Luckily the laptop turned on again after pressing power button, and the usb port that I had connected the usb cable was still functioning because it could detect usb drive. The other two usb ports on the left are not working(near power input). How were they affected and how can i fix them?

hi, ussualy the broken USB port was caused because one USB is not properly connected and they have the same usb controller and the controller may be fried because of the accident
to fix:
I suggest you to bring it to the nearest hp service center if you still have your warranty you may can claim it
