So, I am trying to update my BIOS (because the notebook comes with a very old BIOS version and it is limiting me) via USB following this tutorial: https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c00042629

I do not have an OS, it comes with a FreeDOS, so I can not do it via Windows and I am not willing to use it.

And here is where I got stuck:

Press the F2 key to open the Hardware Diagnostics UEFI menu.

Make sure the power cord is connected to the notebook.

Keep it connected during the BIOS update process.

Insert the USB flash drive that contains the BIOS update into an available USB port on the notebook. Click Firmware Management or BIOS Management.

I have the F2 option to open the Hardware Diagnostics UEFI but it's too old and it does not have any "Firmware Management" or "BIOS Management" option. This is how it looks:

It works, but it's restoring the BIOS, not updating it.

Any idea on what I can do? Thanks.

Hello,

I notice on your screenshot that the HP PC HARDWARE DIAGNOSTICS interface is not up to date, so you can't update the BIOS via a USB stick.

To update the HP PC HARDWARE DIAGNOSTICS interface please go to the following HP page: hp.com/go/techcenter/pcdiags.

Hello, do you have any reference on how to install it on an USB? Because I am trying this:

But the installer is not doing anything, it does some things but it does not let me select a device where to install the files
