I wish to add SSD on my notebook, presently has HDD 1 TB. Need to know what type of SSD.

See pages 41-51 of the Manual:

 

Service Manual

 

You can add an M.2 disk of the SATA-3 type to the existing hard drive. This is what you see when you remove the back cover:

 

M.2 = red HDD = greenM.2 = red HDD = green

 

This is the 512 gig SATA-3 M.2 offered by HP:

 

512 GB solid-state drive 763008-015

 

Place selling one for $91.80 which is a good deal.

You can also buy something like this on amazon.com:

Note that the NVME kind which usually has 2 connector prongs instead of 3 like the above product, will not work.
