Solved!

Update memory - compatibility

HP Recommended
HP 15-ay511ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dears,

I replaced  a memory module (sodimm ddr3l Samsung 4 GB pc3-12800 (800 MHZ), ranks - Single) by a KVR16LS11/8 module  (sodimm ddr3l Kingstone 8 GB pc3-12800 (800 MHZ), ranks - Dual).

Motherboard - 81F1 64.58

BIOS - F40

Are these modules compatibility?

Thanks

Theoretically but we do get reports of issues with Kingston Value RAM (KVR) as it is set up for very wide compatibility and HP laptops tend to be finicky about their memory.

Motherboard (81F1 64.58) supports "ranks: DUAL"?

If it does, then the capacity of the installed RAM available to Windows matches the actual capacity of the stick of RAM.

If it does not, then the motherboard only sees "half" the actual capacity of the stick of RAM.
