Hi,
My current LAptop has 4GB of RAM.
I went to one of HP authorized centers and according to him my other RAM slot number -2 has damaged and only one slot is working.
Now my laptop has 1 RAM installed with 8GB of DDR3 RAM (4 GB of RAM removed and 8 GB installed).
My requirement is 16 GB of RAM.
As per the store guy, I can not have 16GB of DDR3 RAM in one slot, is it correct?
I would like to understand in one slot, can I insert 16 GB of RAM (my second slot is not working)?
In other words, How much maximum GB of RAM I can install in this Laptop (HP Notebook - 15 - ac116tx)

Hi:
The max memory each slot can support is 8 GB. See the Crucial memory report below.

If you try to install a 16 GB memory chip in the one working slot, the odds are stacked against you for having it work.
A 16 GB DDR3L memory module is very expensive, so the stakes would be high for almost a certain guarantee of failure.
