My HP Pavilion dv6 came with a 1.80 gigaherts AMD A8-3510MX APU with Radeon HD Graphics, 4GB RAM, and 700GB HD.
Questions: (1) Can the APU be upgraded, and if so, type of APU?
(2) Can the HD be upgraded to SSD, and will that improve the performance?
(3) Can the RAM be upgraded, and type/size?
Thanks.

Here is the Service Manual:
The only APU better than what you have is the A8-3530MX which is just 1 tick faster so likely not worth the effort. It might take an A10-3xxx APU but no guaranty since not listed in the manual. A different A8 will have the same embedded graphics, an A10 would have a slightly better video engine.
Yes, a 2.5 inch SATA SSD in place of the mechanical hard drive is the best single upgrade you can do. Night and day in terms of boot time and general Windows performance. Once you have used a computer with an SSD , you will never go back.
Memory is up to 8 gigs (2 x 4 gig) DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM.
4 GB 621569-001
