HP 15-bs000 CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

First, when I try to find the service manual for my 15-bs000 CTO notebook, I get redirected to other models. And obvously that makes it a titch hard to find an answer.

Can the RAM in my unit be upgraded by installing an additional stick? One place says yes, another says no and yet another wants me to spend a hundred bucks or more to have a service center do it. So, can the RAM be upgraded?

Hi:

It depends on what Intel processor your notebook has.

If it has a Pentium or Celeron processor, there is one memory slot, and the max memory you can install in the slot would be 8 GB.

If it has an Intel core processor of any generation (6th, 7th or 8th), it has two memory slots and you can install a max of 2 x 8 GB of memory.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the memory upgrade info.

This would be a compatible 8 GB memory chip for your notebook...
