HP EliteBook 840 G1 Notebook PC

Hello,

I want to move from Windows 10 to Windows 11 can I upgrade my Elitebook 840 G1 TPM 1.2 to TPM 2.0.  If so what is the process. I have no idea what the owner password is or where I can find it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi:

Your notebook's TPM cannot be upgraded from v1.2 to v2.0.

Also, your notebook's processor does not meet Microsoft's W11 processor requirements.

If you are interested in upgrading your PC to W11, please see the method I have used to in-place upgrade several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's to W11 22H2 that don't meet the hardware requirements.

One of those notebooks was an HP 350 G1 which is a budget model of your model.

Thank you Paul. I guess that answers my question. If it can't be upgraded it appears the best solution might be to keep using it the way it is and forget about moving to Windows 11 at this time.
