Upgrade HD to SSD

I have a model 15t-j100 that my wife uses occasionally to do MS Office stuff.  It has plenty of memory, but the HD is soooo slow.  I've seen other threads in this forum about upgrading the HD to SSD, but I haven't quite figured out how to determine if this laptop can be done.  Can anyone point me to how to figure that out or suggest which SSD to buy?  I'm a computer professional with over 40 years of experience, mainly in software development, but have done many upgrades to workstations.

I don't know if it matters, but I have Win10Pro64, not just Win10-64.

I don't know how much storage capacity your wife needs, but this 500 GB 2.5" drive would work just fine.

Best performance for the price, in my opinion.  I have a 1 TB one and a 250 GB one.

Thanks.  I should have noted the capacity in my OP.  Actually she only has a 128 Gb HD, so even the 250 Gb model is an upgrade.  Thanks again.  I've already ordered it, and will be attempting to install it in the next week or so.

Just to close it out, I got some free cloning software and it worked well.  The cloning wasn't painless though.  I thought I had a 128 Gb HD, it turns out it was a 1 Tb disk and HP configure it so that I saw only 128 Gb.  I guess for them it's cheaper to make all the laptops the same, and then pare it back with software.  I had to ignore some HD partitions in order to get it to clone to the 250 Gb SSD.  If I would have bought a 500 Gb, it would have been even easier.

This SSD definitely made the laptop nice again.
