Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was planning on Upgrading my old HP 2000 Notebook PC with an i7. It has an Intel B950 cpu which happens to have an Integrated graphics support. So can i upgrade it with an intel i7 2620m processor or something better than this? If i can't are there other options for a processor upgrade.

Hi,

The fastest processor you are able to upgrade to is the

Intel Pentium P6300 2.26-GHz processor (3.0-MB L3 cache, dual core, 35 W)

To be able to upgrade to an i3 or i5 processor you would need to also replace the system board.

You can see this on page 80 and page 69 of service manual.

Hope it helps,

Went through cpu scores on CPUBoss. It so happens that B950 is faster than P6300.Any other options aside from replacing the motherboard.

yes i took the first one in the list I provided since usually they are fastest. However you are correct. The only upgrade I can see is the Intel Pentium B970 2.30-GHz processor (2.0-MB L2 cache, dual core, 35 W) which would not have much performance gain.
