HP Stream
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My HP Stream is not allowing me to upgrade to the new Windows 10 because of low disk space. It gives me 2 options to free up space: 1- click on a link to free up space (I have freed up everything possible) OR 2- insert external storage with at least 11 GB of space (for this option is does not give me a link to click and it has a 500 GB external hard drive connected).

What should I do?

I wrote this Knowledge Base article on this very point:

Read this and post back with any more questions.

@Jhoel

My advice to you is simple -- leave it alone!

When you read the article that @Huffer wrote, you will see that doing such an update, while certainly possible, is a lot of work on your part.

But that is not why I recommend against doing it -- these issues are the reason:  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/status-windows-10-2004

But ... it's your PC, it's your decision.

Gotta agree I see no compelling reason to always have the newest Windows 10 Build, but eventually Microsoft makes you do the upgrade unless you just turn off Update services.
