Hello,
I have a HP Pavilion dv6-7014nr and would like to change my standard Hard Drive Sata(+-700Gb) for a SSD .
My questions are:
-My notebook supports SATA III ?
-Which size physical of SSD should i be looking for? 2.5 inches?
-Is there a maximum SSD capacity supported by notebook?
(I'm not refering to mSSD)
- I was thinking to get something around 350 Gb , any advice ?(Brand?)
Thanks for any kind of help

From the HP Pavilion dv6 Entertainment PC Maintenance and Service Guide;
Hard drive
Supports 6.35-cm (2.5-in) hard drives in12.7-mm (.50-in), 9.5-mm (.37-in), and 7.0-mm (.28-in) thicknesses (all hard drives use the same bracket)
Customer-accessible
Serial ATA
Accelerometer protection support
Supports the following hard drives:
● 1-TB, 5400-rpm, 12.7-mm
● 750-GB, 7200-rpm and 5400-rpm, 9.5-mm
● 640-GB, 5400-rpm, 9.5-mm
● 500-GB, 7200-rpm and 5400-rpm, 9.5-mm
● 320-GB, 7200-rpm and 5400-rpm, 9.5-mm and 7.0-mm
Solid-state drives
Supports 160-GB drive
The above list is indicative of drives installed at the factory and is not all inclusive. Whether the computer supports SATA2 or SATA3, most SATA3 SSDs will be compatible. The computer should support SSDs up to 1TB or more.

Thank you.
I saw the "Solid-state drives Supports 160-GB drive" and thought it was maximum capacity supported.
What is this information ("Solid-state drives Supports 160-GB drive") about ??What does it mean about the notebook?

"Solid-state drives - Supports 160-GB drive" merely means that was a factory installed option available on some "dv6" models. The maximum sized drive (either HDD or SDD) will normally exceed the size of the drives installed by the factory. Your computer should easily support SDDs and HDDs of up to 2TB or more.

I just bought one solid state drive, sata III for my HP Pavilion DV6T-3100. If any problems, will report back once I installed.
Hewllet Packard sales people were so helpless to sell me a drive that I hung up the phone twice on two different people. Aha, how can they have a job with HP?
