OMEN by HP Laptop PC - 17t-w000 CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Back in 2016 I purchased a OMEN by HP Laptop PC - 17t-w000 .CTO. I would like add a large, maybe even faster, hard drive. Are there any suitable?

Thanks,

Jeff

@JeffFinnan

Unfortunately, the service guide for your laptop is a generic one that covers several different models, each with different possible drive configurations.

If you look in HP Support Assistant, it will tell you WHAT is contained in your PC.  We need that information to provide further advice.

In the support assistant I find:

  • Model: V8B53AV
  • Drive: HGST HTS721010A9E630 - 931.51 GB
  • system board: 825B 82.34

Anything else?

Here's the drive:

For some reason when I post the picture of the drive comes up with this triangle.

Any suggestions?

@JeffFinnan

You could replace that with a 2TB laptop drive, if you want. I mention this size because your 1TB drive was probably formattedf MBR not GPT and the 2TB can be formatted the same way.  IF you get larger, presuming you can even find and afford anything larger, you would then have to format that drive GPT.
