Hello community,
I decided i want to upgrade my current wireless adapter in my laptop to access higher bandwidth. I found that the Intel 7260.HMW will fit into the slot and is capable of 802.11ac Wi-Fi. However, upon further reading i am finding some kind of whitelisting that prevents it from working with certain models of IBM and HP, as well as AMD motherboards. At the moment, I am unsure what motherboard I have, but I'm assuming since my processor is AMD, so is the mb. Is there a way to verify if this product is compatible with my laptop? And if not, is there one that would be?

Hi:
The Intel card won't work since your notebook has an AMD processor.
HP doesn't publish any info on what models have whitelists or not.
I cannot guarantee that this card will work but if you want to take a chance on it...
Your notebook must have two antenna cables connected to the wifi card in there now in order to upgrade.
Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo HP part # 724935-001
You should be able to find the card on eBay Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.
You can also opt for the cheaper Broadcom dual band N card with bluetooth...
Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2×2 Wi-Fi Adapter, Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter HP part # 730668-001
The N card should be about half the price of the AC card ($10 - $15).
