You can install any of 3 kinds of SSDs. You could put a 2.5 inch wide SATA SSD in place of the hard drive. For example Samsung 850 Evo 2.5 inch SATA SSD. Or, you can put either a SATA-3 M.2 2280 disk in the M.2 slot or a PCIe/NVME 2280 form factor disk in the same slot. The HP part delevered with the laptop when you order that option from the factory is usually a Samsung PM961.

Did you mean to ask minium or maximum? There is no minimum. SSDs generally start at 80-128 gigs and run up to very large like 4 TB. The laptop will take anything you can find on the market of the right kind of disks.

Here is the Service manual:

Manual

Your laptop currently has a single 8 gig DDR4-2400 module installed. There are two slots. It can take another module of the same type to have 16 gigs. That is the official maximum. However, it is well known it can actually accept 2 x 16 gigs for a total of 32 gigs and you will find resellers offering this model series with 32 gigs of RAM. Very expensive upgrade these days, from 16 to 32 gigs and most people don't really need that much memory. 16 gigs is a lot.

As far as hard drive type storage it can take a hard drive of 2.5 inches which you already have (1 TB 7200 rpm) and there is an open slot to add an M.2 2280 form factor disk which can be either the PCIe/NVME type or the SATA-3 type.

With the back off you can see the hard drive and the M.2 slot:

hdd = square M.2 = circlehdd = square M.2 = circle

Adding an M.2 is a bit of a complicated discussion as there have been compatibility issues with some of the more common M.2 NVME/PCIe disks on the market like the Samsung 960 series. You can use a SATA-3 M.2 like the Samsung Evo 850 or WD blue series and there has been much less by way of compatibility problems.

Post back if you want help finding an M.2 that we can recommend.

From: HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb054tx Product Specifications

Product number - 2FK59PA
Product name - HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb054tx
Microprocessor - Intel® Core™ i5-7300HQ (2.5 GHz base frequency, up to 3.5 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 6 MB cache, 4 cores)
Memory, standard - 8 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB)

That is quite a lot of RAM.

When you run Windows Task Manager, how much of that RAM is being used?

If the answer is "less than 4GB", then adding more RAM is a waste of money.

From page 18 -- Chapter 3 -- Illustrated parts catalog of: HP Pavilion Power 15 Laptop PC Model numbers: 15-cb000 – 15-cb099

(10) Solid-state drive, M.2

256 GB, PCIe
128 GB, PCIe
128 GB, SATA-3

(11) Memory module (DDR4-2400)
8-GB
4 GB
2 GB

The diagram shows that there are 2 slots for RAM, with a maximum of 8GB per slot.

I have warranty on the laptop til 2020.

No.  If you "save" the current disk-drive and the current RAM, and you encounter a problem, re-insert the original parts, and test the computer.  If it still has a problem, then make a claim against the warranty. Once the problem is resolved, re-deploy the upgraded components.

WD Black 256GB PCIe NVMe Internal Solid State Drive (WDS256G1X0C) will fit inside my Laptop . Or suit a better SSD upto 256gb that will fit inside my Laptop.
