Hi,

Your system supports max of 8GB DDR3L-1600 RAM Sodimm. There is only one slot so you will need to buy a 8GB stick of RAM.

On page 45-46 of service manual you can see the steps necessary to upgrade the RAM.

Hi,

Your RAM is upgradeable, however it depends on the exact model of your HP 250 G6 what kind of RAM and how much RAM you can use.

So please provide the exact model of your HP 250 G6 for further help.

Hi Graham,

Your PC with Intel Core CPU and DDR4 RAM will support max 32GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM (2x16GB) even if service manual mentions 16GB. The RAM will run at 2133Mhz. There are two slots, So if you have one 8GB module at the moment, you can add another 8GB module in the empty slot (if you have 2x4GB you will need to replace the modules to reach 16GB). You can buy from your preferred brand such as Crucial, Samsung...

On page 45 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM:

Hope it helps,

David

I'm going to buy this model:

HP 255 G6, Notebook 15.6, APU AMD E2-9000e

can I upgrade it to 8gb? will it be usefull for music production?

HP Recommended

Hi @illahtronic

I would choose a notebook with a better CPU as the "E2-9000e"  is going to be the bottleneck and even with 8GB of RAM it will not have much performance, You can most likely find a HP notebook with better CPU for not much higher price and you will be much happier with it.

The answer is that yes you can upgrade to 8GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM which will run at 1866MHz

There is one slot so you will need to replace the module with an 8GB module.

On page 43 of service manual, you can see the steps to replace the RAM

Hope it helps,
