Hi,
The max RAM is 8GB of DDR4 1866 MHz RAM
You can also use 2400MHz RAM which will run at lower speed.
Example of RAM
https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/hp-255-g6#MEMORYFilters
On page 43 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06231185
You could also replace the hard drive with a cheap SSD to give some extra boost.
Hope it helps,
David

Hi @kyprianos
What you need is DDR4 2400MHz RAM. So for 16GB you will need 2x8GB and for 8GB you can do either 2x4GB or 1x8GB.
There are two slots. The RAM will run at 2133MHz.
Example:
On page 45 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05485525
You should also replace the HDD with a 2.5" SSD which would give a great boost to everyday performance.
Hope it helps,
David
