HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15m-ed0023dx from 12Gb
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I wish to know if it possible to to upgrade the RAM of HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15m-ed0023dx from 12GB to around 16GB since it appears to have two slots, one of 4GB and the other of 8GB?

Hi:

You should be able to do that but there is a conflict in what the service manual indicates.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP ENVY x360 15 Convertible PCIMPORTANT! This document is intended for...

If you look at chapter 1 of the manual, it indicates the memory is onboard, which means it is non-removable.

If you look at chapter 5 of the manual, there is a procedure to remove and replace the memory, and there are even 3 memory module part numbers listed for a 4, 8 and 16 GB memory module.

So, one section of the manual is definitely wrong.  I would say it is chapter 1.

The product specs for your notebook do not indicated the memory is onboard.

You could install as much as 2 x 16 GB of memory in your notebook if you wanted to according to the manual.
