Its specs

1. RAM: It has  8 GB DDR4-2133 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) now, you can add SAME existing 8GB to slot 2 to have 16GB. You can also use

               https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k8g4sfs824a/ct11954412     will run at 2133MHz

2. STORAGE: No, you can't change to M.2 NVMe drive. You can upgrade to standard 2.5" SATA SSD such as

              https://www.samsung.com/au/memory-storage/sata-ssd/870-evo-500gb-sata-3-2-5-ssd-mz-77e500bw/

Max memory is 32 gigs DDR4-2133. So you can easily just add another 8 gig module, and that is what I recommend.

Service Manual

See p. 30 and you can see an M.2 SSD slot to the far left next to the hard drive. On this model series there is a chance that slot will not be there so open the laptop before you buy. It can ONLY take a SATA M.2 not NVME. SATA M.2 is still well worth doing. Much faster than your slow 5400 rpm hard drive. If the slot is missing replace the hard drive with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. Uses the same mounting hardware and cable so easy replacement. 2.5 SATA has same performance as SATA M.2.
