Hi, Amine:

Unfortunately, I can only confirm what chapter 1 of the service manual indicates.

Chapter 1, page 2 indicates that both SATA and NVMe M.2 SSD's are supported.

For use on all computer models:
● 512-GB, 2280 M.2, PCIe-3×4, SuperSpeed (SS), Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) solid-state drive
with triple level cell (TLC)
● 360-GB, 2280 M.2, PCIe3×4, SS, NVMe solid-state drive with TLC
● 256-GB, 2280 M.2, PCIe3×4, SS, NVMe solid-state drive with TLC
● 256-GB, 2280 M.2 SATA-3 solid-state drive with TLC
● 128-GB, 2280 M.2 SATA-3 solid-state driv

I cannot confirm that a NVMe is 100% guaranteed to work in your notebook.

If your notebook has a SATA M.2 SSD currently installed, then you may want to play it safe, and install a 1 TB SATA SSD.

Thank you Paul.

Yes I have a 128GB M2 SSD. So you suggest to replace it with same type SSD but larger capacity (1TB M2 SSD) right ?

You're very welcome.

Can you post the model of the SSD and I will let you know if it is NVMe or SATA.

You can find the model by going to the device manager, click to expand the Disk Drives device manager category, and there you will find the model # of the SSD.

You will have two drives listed there, so post the model number of the right one.

Hello,

I have the following SSD disk (I think it's a SATA): Scandisk X400 M.2 2280 128GB.

As you said, it's safer to go with a SSD drive but my doubt is whether my laptop will support 1TB or the maximum will be 512GB.

Thanks

Amine

A 1 TB SATA SSD should work just fine.
