HP Notebook 14-am038ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like to upgrade the RAM in my laptop, but cannot find the maximum RAM that can be installed. It currently has 4GB and I would like to upgrade to 8GB.

I have not been able to find any manuals for this device that specify the maximum amount of RAM.

The laptop is a HP Notebook 14-am038ca running Windows 10 Home and Linux Mint.

Hi:

Unfortunately I would not be able to confirm with 100% certainty that the memory you selected would work.

What I can confirm is that it meets the DDR3L-1600 requirement.

Now HP has the manual working on their site again...it's at the link below.

See chapter 6 for the memory removal and replacement procedure...

Hi:

Notebooks with the Intel Pentium processors such as yours have one memory slot, which supports a max of 8 GB of memory.

You would have to remove the 4 GB memory chip and replace it with an 8 GB memory chip.

For some reason there is no service manual on your notebook's support page .

However I found it on this third party website...

https://manualmachine.com/hp/240g5/2496732-user-manual/

This would be a compatible 8 GB memory chip for your notebook.

Would this memory from my local computer store work with my laptop?

https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX55595

Additionally, how would I install the RAM into my laptop?
