Hello,

I'd like to upgrade my SSD from the Samsung 256gb that came with it to at least a 500gb SSD.  It's an mSATA internal drive, but when I search for mSATA 500gb SSD's the connector type looks different.  This is mine:

However when I search on Amazon for example, the connectors for the 500gb and 1TB drives look like this:

Samsung 1tb SSD.jpg

Will the 860 EVO drive work in my laptop with this different connector configuration or not?  Thank in advance for your help, I'm really in a bind because I'm quickly running out of drive space with this 256.

The specs of your machine is

It has   256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD therefore you have to use Samsung 970 EVO series, NOT 860 EVO

By the way mSATA amd M.2 SATA are two different things as shown:

Thank Banhien for the quick reply!  Yes, I've continued to research my issue and you're right, I have an M.2 NVMe SSD.  So what I've put together so far is that I need a USB to PCIe NVMe adapter, and then the new SSD of course.  Then I put the new SSD in the adapter enclosure, plug into the USB, and use cloning software to clone my 256 drive.  Then I can install the new SSD in my machine and off I go.  Does that sound correct to you?  Thanks again!
