Welcome to the forum @Tommino

Yes that is one is listed in your manual, but ???

Intel Core Quad i7-840QM 1.86-GHz turbo processor, 45W (1333-MHz FSB, 8-MB L3 cache)   612260-001

Your manual here:

What does it means 612260-001 ?

Do you know if the processor is soldered or not?

Thanks

Sorry @Tommino

To upgrade to the Quad Core you would need a different system board.

The best you can do with your system board is:

Intel Core Dual i7-620M  or  Intel Core Dual i7-640M

In your opinion, would it be useful to upgrade the processor to those you mentioned?

Do you mean I7-620M and I7-640M (not I5 series) ?

@Tommino

Correct: I just edited it.
