Pavilion M6-1045DX Entertaiment
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good afternoon.

I have had a m6-1045dx laptop for several years and I need to perform the following upgrades:

1- Wireless card for one that is dual band

2- mSATA SSD to place in factory-available slot. I would like to increase capacity and speed while maintaining the original HDD.

Whichparts are compatible?

My laptop has an Intel i5 processor, win10 64 bits and BIOS is in version F27.

Iawait support.

I know about the lag of this device and that's why I came looking for possibilities.

I understood your points and I appreciate the agility and attention with my question.

Thanks.

Sorry to report the issues here. The laptop is old enough to still be crippled as far as wifi upgrades by the HP BIOS whitelist problem. Any wireless card other than one of the models offered by HP at the time the laptop was sold will prevent the laptop from booting. None are compliant with current wifi technology 802.11ac dual band. The mSATA slot on that laptop is only for an "acceleration cache". You cannot put an mSATA in there and run the OS from it. That's why on the models where the mSATA was included it's only a 32 gig disk.  I actually used to own this model laptop and am fully aware of its upgrade limits and we have dealt with it for years. Your best upgrade is to max the memory and install a 2.5 inch SATA SSD in place of the hard drive.
