I have a HP 15-da0236ur laptop computer. I want to buy m2 ssd for it. But I don't know how many gb m2 ssd it supports. can you help me?

Hi:

 

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

 

HP 15 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

 

Chapter 1 has the supported drive types.

 

Your notebook's M.2 slot supports both SATA and NVMe M.2 SSD's.

 

M.2 drives up to 256 GB were offered in the model series but you should be able to install a larger capacity M.2 SSD.

 

The Crucial memory site offers M.2 SSD's up to 2 TB in storage capacity in that model series.

 

Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | hp - compaq | hp 15 series | HP 15-DAxxxx Models (15-da0000 - 15-da0099 ...

 

One thing to note...we have discovered from reports by other forum members, that NVMe SSD's only use 2 PCI express lanes, so they do not reach their maximum sequential read/write speeds.

 

NVMe SSD's still would have faster sequential read/write speeds than SATA M.2 SSD's even with the disadvantage.
