The HP ENVY x360 m6-ar004dx Laptop takes the DDR4 PC4-17000 2133MHz Non-ECC SODIMM memory type and comes installed with 8GB memory.

You can upgrade your HP ENVY x360 m6-ar004dx Laptop to up to a maximum memory capacity of 16GB Memory.

The Laptop has 2 Slots (1 Slot upgradable) to install memory, already with 8GB standard memory installed. For best ENVY x360 m6-ar004dx Laptop performance use the maximum amount of 16GB, fill all the slots with the max allowed memory per slot for your Laptop.

Hi, @Heidi4gigz

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade information.

HP Envy x360 m6 Convertible PC (model numbers m6 through ar0XX) Maintenance and Service Guide

According to the manual you are already at the max of 2 GB onboard + 8 GB removable.

If you want to experiment with a 16 GB memory chip, do this first before you buy a 16 GB memory chip.

You can confirm how much memory your notebook can support by doing this...

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator. This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
