This laptop comes with 4 GB of RAM originally after purchasing I wanted to upgrade to 16 so I went and bought 2x 8 gb ram sticks. If I put both sticks in at the same time the laptop will not boot up the light comes on but nothing else happens the screen stays black. If I take the second one out and only use one 8 it works fine. i did this with both 8s to make sure they are both working which they do.

Ram sticks i bought
i don't know a ton about computers but I'm not useless either. Any help would be great.

Hi:
The service manual indicates that you can install 2 x 8 GB of memory, so that isn't the problem.
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
I would go with 2 x 8 GB of the Crucial memory, since they guarantee compatibility.

Get the DDR4- speed memory that HP originally installed in your notebook.
