Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using HP 15S-DY3000 for two years. Now, I have replaced the old HDD with SSD. Then trying to install WIN10 x64 from USB in UEFI mode. No disk showing in Win10 setup. BIOS of HP 15S-DY3000 is showing the SSD perfectly. I have attached the SSD to another Computer, there I can format the SSD. Then, I have tried to install RAPID STORAGE TECHNOLOGY Driver 18.x, 19.x and 20.x, but ended with no Luck. SSD is not detected and showing "We couoldn't find any drives...."

Can anybody please help ??

I zipped up and attached the Intel storage controller drivers below so Windows can find the drive.

 

Copy all of the files in both folders in the attached file to a USB flash drive.

 

Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.

 

Boot from the W10 installation flash drive.

 

When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.

 

If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.

 

Click Next and if those are the right drivers Windows should find the drive and install.

 

Your other option if your notebook came with Windows from the factory would be to use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive.

If the notebook came with FreeDOS, the cloud recovery tool would not be supported.

Tried with your ZIPped folder after unzipping it. But, still showing "We couldn't find any drive...." This SSD is detected in other computers, but no HDD is detecting in this Laptop while installing Win10, but HDDs are showing perfectly in BIOS.

If the PC came with Windows from HP, and not FreeDOS, the only other suggestion I can offer would be to use the HP cloud recovery tool on another PC and create a bootable USB recovery drive. 

 

The HP image will have all of the necessary drivers included.

Since you will have to use the utility on another PC, you will need to enter the PC's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.

I have checked with the link given in last reply by putting Product-ID number of my Laptop, but, it was showing "Not Available"

You have to enter the full product number which is 360L7PA#ACJ and you will get a message that the 'Product is supported.'

 

It will also provide a link to download the HP cloud recovery tool software.

Thanks for you guidance. I have tried and able to create Bootable USB with HP Cloud Recovery Tools. But, during course of installation it threw up a message

"The recovery attempt has failed. Select one of the following buttons:

Save log        Details      Retry"

 

Now, what to do ??

This does not sound good...you can't clean install Windows and the cloud recovery tool media fails.

 

The only suggestion I can offer would be to go into the BIOS and change the date and time to the PC's 'Born on' date.

 

Sometimes the trial software such as McAfee causes problems because the actual date is way beyond the 30 day trial period.

 

Then run the recovery media again.

 

If that doesn't work, I'm afraid I am completely out of suggestions and recommend you clone the HDD image to the SSD and hope that works.

 

If you bought a Samsung NVMe  drive, they have the free Samsung magician software you can use.

If you did not buy a samsung drive, there should be other cloning software available.

 

I know that Macrium Reflect provides a 30-day trial version of the software, so you could use that to clone the HDD to the SSD.

 

You want the Home Edition.

If the drives are different capacities (such as a larger 2.5" drive to a smaller SSD), make sure you set up the program to clone from a larger drive to a smaller one.
