Pavilion TouchSmart 14-b109wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am wanting to purchase and play an online type pc game, Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul, in the near future. I have an HP Pavilion TouchSmart 14-b109wm that is currently running Windows 10 (64 bit) upgraded from Windows 8. It also has an Intel Celeron 877  @ 1.4 ghz processor and Intel HD Graphics. My question is can both of these components be upgraded to an intel Core i5 or higher as well as a Geforce Graphics card? I don't want to have to go out and buy a whole new laptop if I don't have to.

Hi:

You can enter the part numbers for the motherboard and heat sink in the HP partsurfer site at the link below and see what they would cost new, if you can even get them.

https://parts.hp.com/hpparts/default.aspx

The best motherboard and graphics combo would be this part number...

For use with computer models with Intel HM77 chipsets, i5-3337U processors, and 2 GB of dedicated video memory:
For Windows 8 Standard   HP Part # 718729-501

And the heat sink you would need with that would be:

Heat sink for computer models with switchable discrete graphics   HP Part # 697916-001

Hi:

In order to upgrade either the processor or the graphics, you would have to replace the entire motherboard with one that is listed in the service manual for your notebook.  You would also have to replace the heatsink as well.

That would be an expensive and labor intensive project.

Could you give me a rough estimate on what these components/labor would cost? Also I viewed the page in the above link previously and it's a little confusing to me as far as determining the compatible components I would need to get, can you explain a little more to me please as far as which components would be best for my particular laptop. I don't have $1000+ to go out and buy a gaming laptop so that's why I was hoping my laptop could be upgraded.
