Product: DV4 1430us
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
I want to double check before I make a purchase I want to upgrade my laptop's T6500 to a T9600. All sources say it should work. I believe it has the P-socket.
The one of eBay I'm looking at has these specs.... Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 - 2.8 GHz (BX80576T9600 ) SLB47 SLG9F 1066 MHz Processor... It says that it has the P socket.
Thanks for any help.

Hi,
Manual: Page 24, 118, 120
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01597750
Specs: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-dv4-1400-entertainment-notebook-pc-series/3945145/m...
Yes it is compatible, both have same chipset and will fit in the same P socket.
Core 2 Duo T9600 (2.80-GHz, 6-MB L2 cache) : 486727-001
I'm not sure if there would be huge performance improvement
An SSD upgrade would be a wise move though it is bit expensive.
